Karine Rougier
Born in Malta in 1982, Karine Rougier lives and works in Marseille. After studies
at the Arts Décoratifs in Geneva and then at the École supérieure d’Art in Aix-en-Provence. She is the winner of the 2022 Drawing Now Award.
His work has been presented in France (Drawing Now Art Fair 2022, Chapelle de la Visitation à Thonons les Bains, Galerie Pauline Pavec) and internationally, New York (Galerie Catinca Tabacaru, Galerie Dukan), Lisbon (Berardo Museum), Rome (Mondo Bizzaro Gallery) or Buenos Aires (GC Arte Gallery) and at the Drawing Lab from January 20 to March 31, 2023.
Karine Rougier develops a practice of drawing and oil painting on wood.
His work is inspired by his travels, his underwater wanderings in the Mediterranean and his desire to believe in the wonderful. She represented Malta at the Venice Biennale in 2017 and was awarded the Drawing Now Prize in 2022.
