Drawing, writing, reading… a link between art and literature
Drawing, writing, reading… joining forces between art and literature
Invitation to Pauline Allié and Eva Anna Maréchal, of Revue Sabir, and to Ana Bordenave, art critic and researcher, for a meeting to discuss their research on Revue Sorcières.
Revue Sabir is a multidisciplinary French-language publication dedicated to literary creation. Each year, it offers a collection of previously unpublished texts in a variety of genres: poetry, theater, short stories and artists’ writings. Each issue invites contemporary authors to reflect on a common theme.
In 2023, Sabir launched a cycle of three issues exploring the notion of time (future, present, past). The final issue, Sabir n°7, devoted to the past, closed this cycle in December 2024.
La Revue Sorcières, founded by Xavière Gauthier in 1975 and published until 1982, is a literary, artistic and feminist magazine. Its aim was to create a space for women to express themselves, encouraging freedom of speech and creation. Sorcières explores women’s writing and the singularity of women’s creative work, combining text and illustrations on such powerful themes as “Food”, “Prostitution”, “Art and Women” and “Death”.
The evening will feature a cross-reading of the two magazines, followed by an enriching discussion, before continuing in a convivial atmosphere at the Drawing Hotel bar.
